Woodland Regional
Park Program

Outdoor Learning Experience

Nature Field Trips for Students in Grades K-5

IMG_0595_edited.jpg

Students explore and discover the beauty of Woodland Regional Park and Preserve in this outdoor learning adventure. With the help of an Explorit educator, students will become detectives by looking for clues from the natural environment; identifying tracks, feathers, and scat, and monitoring wind and water conditions.

Learning Objectives:

  • Plants and animals are adapted to the environment in which they live. A change to the conditions of the environment can change which species survive and thrive there.

  • The plants and animals that live in an area influence which other plants and animals can live there.

  • Human actions affect plants and animals around them by altering the environment. People can change the environment in ways that are beneficial or harmful to plants and animals.
